What's with the minimalist website?

I've long believed that web optimisation is a fundamental part of a website, and as a typical 'modern' website homepage starts knocking of the door of 6mb, I've decided to go in the opposite direction.

This entire website, including my profile image, is less than 10kb.

Yes, it's not the prettiest thing in the world, but any 'glamour' I add will be purely aesthetic - I'm not trying to sell my personal services as a designer, so there's really no point in wasting your bandwidth with unnecessary markup and imagery.

This site is accessible, cross-browser compatible and bloody fast to load. It's even mobile friendly.
